Plex Media Server is a free and powerful multimedia server application for Linux. We can build a powerful multimedia center using PMS. This step below shows you how to install Plex Media Server on Linux Mint 14.
Step 1. Download DEB package for Plex Media Server
Step 2. Install the package. On Terminal use this command. Don't forget to change the version match with your actual package
sudo dpkg -i plexmediaserver_0.9.6.9.240-8fd9c6a_i386.deb
By invoking the command above, I can successfully installed PMS on Linux Mint 13. But here, I got the following error
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of plexmediaserver:
plexmediaserver depends on avahi-utils; however:
Package avahi-utils is not installed.
dpkg: error processing plexmediaserver (--install):
dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Processing triggers for ureadahead ...
ureadahead will be reprofiled on next reboot
Errors were encountered while processing:
plexmediaserver
Which means, I need to install avahi-utils first. Unfortunately, avahi-utils package is not available through synaptic. What to do next?

Have you found a solution for this? i've been trying myself but read avahi-daemon needs to be installed first.. if you have an answer please share, thank you
