Install Avast Antivirus on Linux Mint 14

I am not sure if Linux users need this antivirus installed on their system. But in case you need to install Antivirus on Linux workstation, Avast Linux Home Edition offers a good Antivirus solution for Linux users. On this tutorial I am going to show you how to install Avast Antivirus on Linux Mint 14 Nadia. Avast provides binary installation file ready for Ubuntu based Linux such as Linux Mint 14.



Steps to install Avast Antivirus on Linux Mint 14

1. Download Avast Free Antivirus installer. Visit the page below to download. Select DEB package from the list.

2. You will have a file called avast4workstation_1.3.0-2_i386.deb. Right click the file and select Open with GDebi Package Installer.

3. Once finished, you can open it and you will need a license number to use Avast free antivirus. Simply follow the link on the dialog window to obtain the valid key.
